Erin Roberts, PhD, SVP Research and Development

Dr. Erin Roberts is the SVP Research and Development at Novoheart, having worked in both their Hong Kong and US locations since joining the company in 2018. She completed her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Boston University and Boston Children’s Hospital. Her work focused on the design and fabrication of bio-MEMS for the stimulation and characterization of engineered cardiac tissue sheets, isolation and differentiation of human placental mesenchymal stem cells for cardiac applications, and characterization of expandable stented venous valve implants for pediatric surgical solutions. Her technical expertise is in scaffolds for tissue engineering and characterization, bio-MEMS devices for cellular functional measurements, and biomaterial and tissue mechanical properties. Erin has an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. Prior to her PhD, Erin worked for GE Energy as part of their Edison Engineering program. She is an author on 10+ peer-reviewed publications and several patents related to Novoheart technologies.
